History of Development
The commercial value of packaging itself is becoming increasingly prominent—it has evolved into a distinct product no longer tied solely to the production of goods, but rather an indispensable, widely used item essential to all products.
Chinese scientists have developed an eco-friendly plastic bag made from an electrolyte. Not only can this environmentally friendly bag break down harmlessly, but it can also dissolve completely in water.
According to scientists, products made from common high-molecular plastics in everyday life can take hundreds of years to fully decompose, meaning they may persist on Earth for centuries. In fact, data shows that 80% of used plastic bags end up being disposed of alongside regular waste—typically sent to landfills—while only 7% of plastic is actually recycled and reused.
This new eco-friendly plastic bag doesn’t release harmful substances during its decomposition—and it can even break down into natural compounds that insects love, significantly contributing to the protection of the natural environment.
Classification
By manufacturing process, they are commonly divided into plastic packaging bags and composite packaging bags.
Classified by production material: high-pressure polyethylene plastic bags, low-pressure polyethylene plastic bags, polypropylene plastic bags, polyvinyl chloride plastic bags, and more.
By shape: vest bags, straight-tube bags, three-dimensional bags, and square-bottom bags. Also available are zip-lock bags, adhesive-strip bags, and custom-shaped bags, among others.
Plastic packaging bags include plastic woven bags and plastic film bags. The former feature lightweight construction, high strength, and excellent corrosion resistance; when lined with a plastic film, they also become moisture- and damp-proof. Light-duty bags can carry weights of up to 2.5 kg, medium-duty bags handle 25–50 kg, and heavy-duty bags are designed for loads between 50 and 100 kg. As for the latter, light-duty bags support weights starting from 1 kg or more, medium-duty bags carry 1–10 kg, while heavy-duty bags manage 10–30 kg. Container bags, meanwhile, are capable of holding over 1,000 kg.
Plastic woven bags
Plastic woven bags are categorized into polypropylene bags and polyethylene bags based on their primary material composition, and into bottom-sewn bags and side-and-bottom-sewn bags according to their sewing method. These products are created through a warp-and-weft weaving process and are commonly referred to as "woven bags."
Plastic film bag
The raw material for plastic film bags is polyethylene. While plastic bags certainly make our lives more convenient, this temporary convenience comes with long-term harm.

Bag-making for packaging
Composite flexible packaging materials ultimately need to be transformed into various types of packaging bags before they can be used. There are two primary methods for bag-making: one involves manufacturers using roll film and filling it automatically on a packaging machine, then sealing and shaping it into different bag styles. The other method entails producing the bags first and subsequently filling them with the desired contents.
Because professional bag-making processes ensure precise control, result in aesthetically pleasing bag designs, and offer versatile customization options with a wide variety of bag shapes, in many cases, bags are manufactured first.
